WestNet Infrastructure Group operates in two distinct industry sectors: Rail, and Energy transmission and distribution. The WestNet Infrastructure Group is controlled by Babcock and Brown Infrastructure, a specialist, ASX-listed, infrastructure entity diversified across two asset class segments: Energy Transmission and Distribution and Transport Infrastructure.
WESTNET ENERGY
WestNet Energy is responsible for WA's most crucial piece of energy infrastructure - the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline which stretches almost 1600 kms from the Pilbara region to the state's south-west. The business also provides services to WA's residential and commercial gas distribution system which services some 600,000 customers across WA. We also run a major overhead and underground electrical cabling contracting operation.
WestNet Energy is leading the way in asset management and project management for both the gas and electricity fields in WA.
WESTNET RAIL
WestNet Rail manages the largest and most diverse rail network in WA, operating and maintaining approximately 5,100 kilometres of rail infrastructure throughout the southern half of the state. The WestNet Rail network connects WA to the east coast network, and to the ports of Geraldton, Fremantle, Kwinana, Bunbury, Albany and Esperance.
WestNet Rail is WA's largest major rail infrastructure management business.
